Citizen's Police AcademyHave you ever thought about driving a police car, shooting police issued weapons, or watching a police canine take down a "suspect?"
You can join the growing population of Citizen Police Academy Graduates by applying for the Wisconsin Rapids Citizen's Police Academy. During the academy you will receive inside information on how and why police officers respond to calls, how we investigate crimes, and what tools and technology are used by our officers. In addition, you will be privy to a demonstration from our special Response Team, canine unit, and our Emergency Vehicle Operation Course (EVOC). You will also learn about crime scene investigation (CSI), drug investigations, sensitive crimes, and so much more! Each session is instructed by one or more of our officers who has been chosen to do so because of the expertise, proficiency, and professionalism they have demonstrated in their assigned area. These sessions run 10 consecutive weeks, one night each week from 6 pm - 9 pm We host two Academies a year - one in the fall and one in the spring.
You can complete the online application at any time and indicate on it to contact you for the upcoming academy or for a future academy. Talk to anyone who has attended one of our academies and they will tell you that it was not only worth their time but they're glad they did!
Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association
