The mission
of the Engineering Department is to provide the Mayor, Common Council,
and the Citizens of Wisconsin Rapids the most efficient and effective
engineering services through the use of technology to design for
future growth and to maintain existing facilities.
The Essential
Duties of the Engineering Department are as follows:
Transportation-Planning, Design and Construction
Administration and Inspection of
Streets and highways
Traffic control
Parking utility
Working with the railroads to reduce delay and crossing safety
Bike trails/Sidewalks
Utilities-Planning, Design and Construction
Administration and Inspection of
Sanitary sewer system
Storm sewer system
Provide engineering services for the Wastewater treatment plant
Administer of the sewer use fee
Survey and Right of Way
Survey for public works construction projects
Maintaining land records and survey control data
Administers and performs land acquisition/of City properties
Other
services provided
City maps, exhibits, and engineering services for other City
departments
The Engineering Department is on the 2nd floor
of City Hall. It consists of the Offices of the City Engineer, Assistant
City Engineer
and City Surveyor (currently vacant). The Engineering Department
is open from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
Permits that can be obtained at the department:
Concrete permits, Asphalt paving permits, Excavation in the public
right of way permits Parking permits, Garbage hauling vehicles
