Membership
Annual membership dues are $10.00 per person
and are payable on a calendar year basis (January 1 - December
31).
You may pay your $10.00 at the
volunteer reception desk or at the Lowell Center
office. We
also accept payments by mail. (Please make checks payable to Lowell
Center.)
We value your support!
Also please remember, if you’d like
to have the Lowell Life Newsletter mailed to your home, the cost
is an additional $5.00 for
the year. Take advantage of this wonderful convenience!
WHY PAY DUES???
The Board of Directors has been asked to explain the importance of
paying for a membership at the Lowell Center. Because membership
is not mandatory, some members are concerned by the comments made
by non-member participants who utilize the Center on a regular
basis but choose not to pay the $10.00 fee.
What happens if participants don’t
pay membership dues?
- A reduction in our membership numbers
could result in reduced funding from outside sources, which
would directly affect the number
and types of programs that we offer, the hours that we are open,
as well as any additional services.
- In order to supplement our funding
needs, program fees would have to be put in place. For example,
participants may be charged
$1.00 per each daily activity. If you participate in four programs
each week, you would be charged $4.00 per week. This would amount
to considerably more than $10.00 per year, per person.
Why pay membership dues?
- Membership fees cover expenses
related to programs, office supplies, and operating costs at
the Center.
- Membership numbers are vital to
our outside funding sources. Organizations, such as United Way,
the City of Wisconsin Rapids,
and other grantors, consider our membership growth when determining
the amount of funding we receive for the Center.
- Members benefit from reduced trip prices
($10.00 off each trip)
- Members are entitled to voting
rights at Association Meetings
- Members enjoy the privilege of
participation in “Members
Only” events
and activities
But above all…
Increased membership guarantees the continuation of Lowell Center
programs and operations.
