The
Wisconsin Rapids Police Department hires officers from an eligibility
list
which is established every two years or sooner if it is exhausted.
The department advertises in the local and major state newspapers,
on Wilenet, and in the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Bulletin. Questions
about when an eligibility list will be established can be addressed
to the Human Resources Office at phone number (715) 421-8214. Minimum
requirements needed to be able to participate in the testing process
include an Associate Degree in Police Science, a college degree in
a related field or a minimum of 60 credit hours of college level
courses. The applicant must have completed Basic Police Recruit Training
and have Wisconsin Certification. The applicant must also pass a
swim test, written test, and physical agility test.
