The South Wood County Airport-Alexander Field is located at 3620 1st Street South in Wisconsin Rapids. The airport was built for Nekoosa Edwards Paper Company, a subsidiary Tri-Cities Airways in October 1928, and named after its executive John Alexander.
Ownership is currently split between Wisconsin Rapids, Grand Rapids, Port Edwards and Nekoosa.
Self-serve fuel and access to the Terminal Building are available 24-hrs a day.
The airport is staffed 8-4:30 pm Monday - Friday.
