American Asphalt paved the binder course this week. The final surface layer remains before this project is complete. The street remains closed although residents have access to their homes. Wastewater force main river crossing: A-1 Excavating began topsoil restoration this week. Sand was brought in to rebuild the volleyball court in the park. One small piece of trail remains to be paved before the trail can be re-opened. Topsoil restoration and seeding was completed on Blue Heron Lane. The surface layer of asphalt remains on Blue Heron Lane and the intersection of Pepper Ave and Ridgewood Trail. West Side Lift Station: Miron Construction continues work within the new sump well. A new sanitary manhole and 30” inlet pipe was constructed for the sump well this week. Precision Grading began backfilling this week. Wisconsin River Green Space and Recreation Project: This week Janke completed construction of the retaining wall north of stone steps in the East Riverbank Conservancy. They also worked on the 2nd Street and East Riverbank Conservancy trails. They plan to have everything graded and ready for concrete next week. Also, the Janke crew began work on the fishing pier. Landscape subcontractor Revi Designs continued planting and landscape work in Demitz Park. Next week Janke’s concrete crew will be onsite pouring the concrete trails throughout the project. They also plan to have the fishing pier completed. Current Technologies will be onsite next week setting lights in Demitz Park and installing conduit in the East Riverbank Conservancy. High Street - 12th Ave N to 17th Ave N: This week City crews completed the underground work between 13th Ave N and 14th Ave N. Work began on the last segment of the project between 12th Ave N and 13th Ave N. Pember completed the concrete work from 14th Ave N to 17th Ave N. Residents along the 1200 block of High Street will not have direct access to their driveways during this stage of construction. Van Buren Street – 8th Ave N to 10th Ave N: City crews poured the last piece of curb this week. Some sidewalk work and asphalt paving remain for this project. 10th & 12th St Sidewalk Project: 10th St. (Grove-Wood), Wood Ave (10th-12th) and 12th St (Wood-River Run) No work this week as Pember concentrated efforts on High Street. Pember plans to begin work on this project next week.
High Street - 7th Ave N to 10th Ave N
City crews finished preparing this portion of High Street for asphalt this week. American Asphalt anticipates paving this Street early next week. Wastewater force main river crossing A-1 Excavating began preparation work to pave the recreational trail from the zoo to the river. American Asphalt paved the repaired portions of Ridgewood and Blue Heron Lane. Topsoil restoration remains on Blue Heron Lane. West Side Lift Station Miron Construction continues concrete work within the new sump well. Delays due to rock slowed construction this week of the new 30” inlet pipe and sanitary manhole. The project remains on-schedule for a February completion. Wisconsin River Green Space and Recreation Project This week Janke worked in the East Riverbank Conservancy removing the old kayak launch and installing the riverbank steps. They also continued work on the riverbank stabilization and grading for the trail/sidewalk within the same area. The shade structure is completed within Demitz Park and American Asphalt paved the parking area. Current Technologies was onsite trenching conduit for the upcoming installation of electrical service. Janke plans to be working on sidewalk trails in the East Riverbank Conservancy next week. They will continue working northwards installing riverbank stabilization and grading the trail in preparation of concrete. High Street - 12th Ave N to 17th Ave N This week City crews concentrated on underground work within the 13th Ave N intersection. Rock was excavated and seven new manholes were installed in this area. Pember poured concrete curb and is working on sidewalk from 14th Ave N to 17th Ave N. Next week SX blasting is planning on blasting rock for the new storm sewer trench along the north section of High Street from 13th Ave N to 14th Ave N. Residents along the 1300 block of High Street will not have direct access to their driveways during this stage of construction. Van Buren Street – 8th Ave N to 10th Ave N KS Energies completed the gas main replacement this week. City crews began final road grading in preparation for asphalt paving. Due to inclement weather, Pember was not onsite this week. Pember poured ½ the curb at the 8th Ave N intersection and is planning on completing the intersection next week.
