Solar Power Systems
The City of Wisconsin Rapids is committed to supporting alternative energy systems and technology. As part of that commitment the City has assembled information on solar power as it relates to planning, permitting and education.
As part of our mission, the City has obtained Gold status designation through the SolSmart program. The program was designed to help streamline and improve the permitting process and access to resources to aid in the development of solar. The first step in that process was the declaration of our intent. You can see that declaration here. Want to learn more about SolSmart, click here.
Are you wondering what it takes to permit a solar energy system at your home or business? Use our handy permitting checklist that you can access here.
Our local utility, Water Works and Lighting Commission, has also put together an overview of how your solar system can connect into the local grid to maximize an investment in solar. Their overview can be found here.
If you reside within the zip code 54495, Focus on Energy has recently announced an increase in the incentive to install solar power on your home. If you would like to learn more about the Focus on Energy program please follow this link.
Want to learn more about Solar overall and whether or not it is the right fit for you? Our partners at Midwest Renewable Energy Association have compiled a variety of educational items for your use and enjoyment. You can find that site here.
