COMMON COUNCIL
The Common Council is comprised of eight members who are elected by the voters in Wisconsin Rapids to represent them over a two-year term. There are 29 wards in the city, which make up the eight aldermanic districts that each alderperson represents. The Council works with the City administration as well as other governmental entities and community organizations to develop worthwhile policies.
The Common Council is responsible for passing ordinances, resolutions, and motions for the governing of the city. They also have control of the city's property and finances and appropriation of money.
