Some of the services the department offers include:

• Community Risk Reduction program targeting "Fall Prevention".
• Blood pressure and medical alert bracelets Monday through Saturday 8 to 11 am. 
• Station tours by appointment.
• Home fire safety inspections and smoke detector installation (upon request by the home owner or occupant).
• A speakers bureau offering public education and information about fire prevention
• Commercial fire inspections
• "Keep the Wreath Green" program, a fire safety awareness program at Christmas time
• "Keep the Tree Green" in spring to bring awareness to the dry conditions and wildland fires

 The department makes the following requests:

• Pull to the right and stop when emergency vehicles are responding to fires or ambulance calls
• Display house numbers, as required by city ordinance
• Smoke detectors are installed in each bedroom of a home or apartment and are in working order.
• Adopt a hydrant by keeping snow cleared from fire hydrants
• The only burning is for camp fires. For more information on burning permits, visit our burning regulations.
