Yard Waste Collection
2021 DATES COMING SOON! There is a new process for curbside yard waste pickup. Residents will be required to use large PAPER YARD WASTE BAGS (plastic bags will not be accepted). Bags will be taken and composted, and not emptied at the curb and left to reuse. Residents must call the City Garage at (715) 421-8218 to place their address on the list for collection. Yard waste collection will only take place once in the spring and twice in the fall. Paper yard waste bags are available at local retail/hardware stores. |
Compost Sites
The City of Wisconsin Rapids has two composting sites available for residents and non-residents: East and West. Materials accepted at both composting sites are leaves, grass clippings, garden waste, brush, and tree limbs. Stumps are accepted at the West Side only. Contractors wishing to dispose of stumps must call the City Garage to pay for stump loads. STUMP PRICES Single axle: $15 Tandem axle: $20 Tri-axle: $30 Quad-axle: $40 Residents must have a compost tag to use the compost sites. Tags are free to City of Wisconsin Rapids residents and can be obtained at the City Garage. Non-Resident tags can be purchased for $50.00 from the Township where the non-resident resides. Sites are closed the following observed holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, December 24 and December 25. West Side (click for map) Monday - Friday from 7:30 am until 2:30 pm, weather permitting. Please call prior to using site in winter months to ensure the gates are open. |
Brush Collection Schedule
Brush is limited to one pile no larger than 4’ high, 6’ wide, and 10’ long. Stumps and root balls are not accepted. Brush should be placed curbside the Sunday prior to the week of pickup. Crews will make one trip through each residential neighborhood; brush not placed on the curbside when crews go through the area will not be collected. If you need further information, please contact the City Street Department at (715) 421-8218. 2021 Collection Dates Christmas Tree Collection will occur the week of January 25. If you wish to utilize this service please be sure to have your tree out with lights and ornaments removed. 2021 collection calendar coming soon. |
