Dog-Friendly Park Rules:
Responsible pet owners and their pets are welcome in many Wisconsin Rapids Parks. There are a few simple rules to ensure that you, your pet, and other visitors will enjoy the park. These rules apply to all pets except service animals helping people with disabilities. Learn where your dog is allowed and not allowed. Do not bring your dog in any park or public place where dogs are prohibited.
Keep your pet on a leash
Pets must be on a leash no longer than 10 feet at all times.
Pets must be under control
Pets must be under control at all times. Pet owners are not allowed to let their pets interfere in any manner with other people's enjoyment of the park. Pet owners who fail to properly control a pet or whose pet creates a public nuisance or other disturbance may be asked to leave the park or may be issued citations. Leaving your pet unattended is inconsiderate to other park users and exposes you to potential problems. Never allow your dog to bark at, intimidate, attack, or threaten another pet or any person. Report to the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department at (715) 423-4444 or the Wood County Humane Officer at (715) 421-8700, any bite incident in which your dog is involved, whether your dog bites a person, is bitten by, or fights with a wild animal or stray pet.
Loose pets may be seized
Loose pets may be seized and are subject to local ordinance pertaining to stray animals. Owners of loose pets may be ticketed. If your pet is lost, inform local authorities.
Dispose of waste properly
Pet owners are responsible for proper removal and disposal of their pets' waste products. Always carry equipment sufficient to clean up your dog’s waste. As a convenience, dog waste stations are available but may not always have bags or other equipment. Waste can be disposed of in dog waste stations. Do not allow your dog to defecate on any property, public or private, unless you immediately remove, and properly dispose of the waste.
Dog License and Vaccinations
You must keep your dog's rabies vaccination and dog license current, and dogs must wear current rabies, license, and owner ID tags.
