High Street – 7th Ave N to 10th Ave N City crews worked on installing underground utilities mainly within the 8th Ave N and High Street intersection. Work also began on the 800 block. KS Energy finished the gas relocation at the 8th Ave N intersection. Next week crews plan to place road base on the 700 block and lay storm sewer pipe on the 800 block. The intersection at 8th Ave N and High Street should also be in gravel by the end of next week. High Street remains closed from 7th Ave N to 10th Ave N with no driveway access to residents in the excavation area on the 700 and 800 blocks.
Wastewater force main river crossing Ellingson Trenchless is close to completing the directional drilling pilot hole beneath the Wisconsin River. Next week the new 20” force main pipe will be pulled across the river. The river-crossing is expected to be complete by mid-July. Final connections and road closures near Blue Heron Ln, Pepper Ave, and Ridgewood Trail intersections are tentatively planned for the week of July 17th.
West Side Lift Station Additional soil borings were completed this week. Work is expected to resume as soon as the geotechnical evaluations are complete.
Wisconsin River Green Space and Recreation Project This week Janke worked on and completed storm sewer in Demitz Park. They also completed trail grading within Demitz Park. Lastly, they worked on setting concrete forms under the bridge in preparation of the trail being poured. Next week Janke will work on installation of sanitary sewer laterals and water services. They also plan to finish the trail from Riverwood Lane to the north side of the Riverview Expressway bridge. Subcontractor American Asphalt is scheduled to be onsite paving Riverwood Lane late next week.
1st St N – Poplar St to North City Limits Fencing the trail at the retaining wall and narrow portions of the trail is all that remains. This work is anticipated to be done next week.
Washington St – 8th St N to 12th St N City crews are 90% done with the final restoration work and should finish work on the project next week.
